The other day, I had one of those mom moments when I wanted SO BADLY to sneak a picture of my sons but decided it was more important that they continue speaking to me. They were still asleep, and both snuggled under their covers in the exact same position.

Having Christian and Nathan together is a rare gift that always goes too quickly. This time we got Christian for an entire week—the longest he has stayed since Nathan and I moved back to the Bay Area. As predicted, it felt more like two days, which is why I decided to put off blogging until after he left.

Sometimes we just need to enjoy being with the people we love, knowing our work will always be there.

When I sat down to the computer this afternoon and couldn’t think of a single insightful thing to say, I realized that sometimes we also need time to let what we’ve just enjoyed sink in and settle before we share it with the world.

I expect a great idea to come to me while I’m at the cabin without WiFi.

For now, a few photo highlights

Traditional stop at the Mexican place in Martinez after picking Christian up at the Amtrak station.

Great young men think alike.

A treat as rare as having my boys together–Mom and Dad get all eight grandkids in one picture!

I love these guys!

Officially sick of Mom taking pictures.

When is the last time that you set work aside and let yourself enjoy the people that God has blessed you with—your kids, your friends… How easy is it for you to do this?
